A local garage door company, open when you are home
Everest Garage Doors is a family-owned, insured garage door company based at 275 Grove Street in Newton. Noam, the owner, started the company in 2026. We are new, and we would rather tell you plainly what we do than make big claims. Here is what you can count on: the hours, the prices, the brands we work on and how our technicians behave at your home.
Most garage door problems do not wait for a weekday afternoon. A spring breaks as you leave for work. A door sticks open on a Sunday evening. That is why we are open Monday to Friday 7 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 7:45 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday 7 AM to 8 PM.
We repair, replace and install doors and openers for homeowners in Newton, Waltham, Wellesley, Needham, Brookline, Cambridge, Boston and nearby towns. We also name the exact part we are fixing, whether that is a spring, a cable, a roller, a sensor, a panel or a door that has come off its track.

Common garage door problems we handle
A loud bang from the garage often means a torsion spring has broken. If you hear one, do not try to lift the door by hand. The door is heavy and the broken spring can no longer balance it. Call us and we will tell you what to do next.
A door that will not close or reverses on its way down is often a sensor problem. A blinking light on the sensors usually means they are misaligned or blocked. Check for dirt or an object in the way, and call us if the light keeps blinking.
A door that hangs crooked, or comes off its track, usually points to a cable or track problem. These repairs are risky to do yourself because of the tension in the parts. A noisy or grinding door is often worn rollers or a door that needs lubrication.
We also replace damaged panels, repair sensors, and offer garage door maintenance and tune-ups. Our Spring Tune-Up Special covers lubrication, a balance check and a safety inspection, and it runs through December 19, 2026. Call to ask about current offers and what they include.

Garage door questions, answered
Why won't my garage door close, or why does it reverse?
Most often it is the safety sensors near the floor. They may be dirty, bumped out of alignment or blocked. Wipe the lenses, check that both lights are steady, and make sure nothing is in the way. If the door still reverses, the limit settings or alignment may need adjusting. Call us and we will take a look.
My garage door won't open. Is it the spring, the opener or something else?
If the opener runs but the door does not lift, a broken spring or a disconnected trolley is likely. If the opener does nothing, it may be the remote, the power or the opener itself. Try pulling the release cord and lifting the door slightly. If it feels very heavy, the spring is probably broken, so stop and call us.
I heard a loud bang from the garage. What was it?
That sound is often a torsion spring breaking. Do not try to lift the door, because the spring that balanced its weight is gone. Keep the door closed and call us. Same-day service is available for broken springs.
My garage door is stuck open at night. What should I do?
Keep people and pets away from the door, and do not force it. Call us after hours for urgent problems like a broken spring or a door stuck open, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are closed on major holidays.
How does your pricing work for spring replacement?
We use upfront, flat-rate pricing. The cost depends on the door and the kind of spring it needs. Call us and we can tell you more, and estimates are free.
How much does a new garage door cost?
It depends on the size, material, insulation and style you choose. We give free estimates, so call us or book a visit and we will walk you through your options.
Should I repair or replace my garage door?
A single broken part, like a spring, cable or roller, is usually worth repairing. A new door can make more sense if several panels are damaged or the door keeps needing work. We will tell you what we see and let you decide.
What should I know about garage door opener installation?
Openers come in chain, belt and wall-mount styles, and we install brands such as LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie. Chain drives are common, belt drives tend to run quieter, and wall-mount openers save space overhead. We can help you pick one that suits your door and garage.
My cable snapped or came off the drum. Why is the door crooked?
The cables lift the door evenly on both sides. When one side lets go, that side drops and the door hangs crooked. Please do not run the opener. Call us and we will repair it.
Why is my garage door so noisy?
Grinding or rattling often comes from worn rollers, dry hinges or hardware that needs lubrication. A tune-up or roller replacement usually quiets the door. Call us and we will check which one you need.
What payment methods do you take?
We accept cash, credit card, debit card, check, Zelle and Venmo.
